In 2013 we created a new brand identity for Leeds Castle, one of Britain’s premier heritage sites which has almost 1000 years of history.
During the initial stage of the project we became aware of the visual similarity of many heritage site identities. We wanted to create a brand that would set Leeds Castle apart from other heritage sites and reflect its important historical status.
The Leeds Castle visitor experience combines medieval history and an interior extensively re-modelled in 1930’s style by its enigmatic American owner during the last century.
We looked to reflect these distinctive features in a logotype that integrated both historical and art deco visual cues, employing the castle’s iconic black swans as a motif.
During the design programme we considered every aspect of the Castle’s communication and this will be implemented throughout 2014 and beyond.
